Gaze Burt welcomed Rebecca to our North Shore office as legal secretary in April this year.
Rebecca entered the legal profession after leaving school and receiving a great opportunity of work experience at a small law firm in New Lynn. She was then offered a fulltime position with the firm as an office junior/receptionist, gaining a lot of knowledge and experience in the legal profession in the next five years, including completing studies to become a qualified legal secretary.
In December 2012 she moved to Brisbane, Australia, working for a small law firm specialising in personal injury and commercial and property law. She was there for only a few short months before moving to Sydney and working for a much larger law firm in their superannuation department.
In April 2014 she returned home to New Zealand and had a beautiful baby boy. After some time at home with him, she returned to the corporate world at one of Auckland’s largest law firms, working in the intellectual property and commercial departments in the CBD. After two and a half years of commuting to the city she started the hunt for a position closer to home and made the move to Gaze Burt.
Since starting to work for Gaze Burt, Rebecca has enjoyed being able to spend more time with her family, “…which I am so grateful for. I also enjoy working in a smaller firm as I feel you get more of a sense of belonging and involvement. I enjoy the variety of work I am doing in conveyancing and family law”.
Outside of work Rebecca enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her son. She also enjoys going to the gym which is a fairly new thing for her, in particular doing weightlifting training.
