Bhavin started with Gaze Burt as a full time summer clerk in December 2018. Initially, his role involved digitising paper-based trust files. He now works part time at the North Shore office, assisting the trusts administration service and offering a helping hand to the commercial law team.
Bhavin completed a BCom in Accounting and Commercial Law from the University of Auckland in November 2015. While progressing through the BCom, he found himself engaging particularly with courses under the Commercial Law major. One reason for this was that “I began to realise the value of words, powered by law, to solve problems”.
After the BCom, Bhavin took up studying his LLB to further pursue his interest in Commercial Law.
Bhavin interned at Ellis Gould Lawyers in the 2017/2018 summer which reinforced his interest in beginning a career as a lawyer. He completed his LLB from Victoria University of Wellington in November 2018, and is currently studying profs with the aim of being admitted in November 2019.
Outside of work, Bhavin is an avid supporter of the Blackcaps and All Blacks. During the summer months, he umpires cricket matches that come under the jurisdiction of the Auckland Cricket Association. He recently qualified as an accredited Level 3 Umpire, and enjoys working at the intersection of sports and law. During the winter months, he avidly follow the Super and International Rugby seasons.
