This week the government announced that COVID-19 vaccination will be mandatory for workers in the education and health and disability workforces. This announcement extends the government’s existing mandatory vaccination requirement for border workers and MIQ workers. Dismissal of an unvaccinated border worker was recently found to be justified in the Employment Relations Authority, and that principle would likely now extend to healthcare and education workers also.
