Steven is a Chartered Accountant with a background of several years experience with various chartered accountancy firms in Auckland prior to joining Gaze Burt in 1992.

Within Gaze Burt, Steven’s role involves management and administration of the firm at all levels. Responsibilities include financial management and reporting, IT management, marketing and business development, personnel management and general administration. In fact, it includes anything except legal advice to clients.

Steven has been involved in community activities over many years including as a church treasurer and member of the Board of Trustees of his local primary, intermediate and secondary schools for nine years (with four of those as Board Chair). Currently, Steven is treasurer of Stewards’ Trust and Stewards’ Foundation, Christian charitable organisations managing a total asset base of $8 million, a trustee of a community trust and involved with church leadership.

Steven is married with two teenage children. Aside from his involvement in the boards noted above, his interests include D.I.Y. projects and reading (when he can find the time!).
