Les Allen

Les Allen leads Gaze Burt's commercial team. He has been a commercial lawyer for over 25 years, having initially started working as an accountant. Prior to joining Gaze Burt, Les was a part of the commercial team in a large national legal firm. Les' expertise lies in corporate commercial law, including company restructuring and mergers and acquisitions.

He regularly acts for corporate and private clients in sales and purchases of multi-million dollar businesses, and is legal advisor to a number of companies and medium-sized businesses. In addition Les acts for many clients on wide ranging tax related matters.

Les holds a Post Graduate Degree in taxation and has presented a number of seminars on tax-related subjects such as GST and tax implications of franchise law. Les practises in securities law asset protection, finance and charities law.

Les is also a Notary Public and a senior member of the New Zealand Trustees Association. He has previously been Chairman of the Board of Directors for the New Zealand Baptist Savings and Development Society, Deputy Chairman of Lynfield College, Auckland, and on the Board of the Kelston Deaf Education Centre.
